FOR GREENWICH & BEXLEY COMMUNITY HOSPICE
Welcome to Open Gardens 2020
It is a disappointment that we are not able to hold the Open Gardens event in June as in the past. This has been a major fund raising event for the Hospice raising at least £12,000 each year, as well as providing much enjoyment to both garden openers and visitors.
But I hope that the alternative will also prove both enjoyable and remunerative.
A Virtual Open Gardens enables you to visit over 40 gardens in the areas served by the Hospice without venturing from your home. Each owner has been asked to produce their own video or assemblage of photos to a length of about 2 minutes. Some have commentaries. Some are silent. Some have a musical background. Some have the sound
of water or birdsong. Some are very professional, some (like mine!) are not. I hope that gives a charm to the exercise and that you will return to our virtual gardens on many occasions during the summer. It is down to the expertise of Tiggy Whitham that the individuals offerings have been seamed together, and I am very grateful to her.
Thank you for your support.
